Hoi An is a small city on the coast of the South China Sea in the South Central Coast of Vietnam. It is located in Quảng Nam province and is home to approximately 120,000 inhabitants.

Over 3000 islands protrude from the sea with red sailed junks dotting the horizon. With a total area of 354 sq km, the mountainous island of Cat Ba is the largest island in Ha Long Bay. Cat Ba is a tropical paradise of white sands beach, caves, and limestone peaks, which rise like gnarled, blackened fingers from the lush greenery.
